Looks beautiful and nicely finished. Mine worked for a few years before breaking. The threads where it attaches to the arm are just thin wood and can break easily with minimal pressure. Having a metal thread insert would be a welcome design improvement.

For nearly four years I enjoyed this wooden brew lever. Until today, when the wood fractured and is not repairable. We hadn't done anything different today compared to any other day over the past 46 months. In looking at the fractured remnants, the walls of the wooden cylinder are quite thin (maybe 1.5mm at most?) and I could see how it could get fatigued after pulling a few thousand espresso.
Long story short - keep the original brew lever because you might need it in a few years time.
